Sen. Klobuchar has introduced legislation that would make illegal streaming of copyrighted materials a felony.  This was one of the legislative recommendations made in the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator’s report to Congress in February.  The legislation has not yet been placed online, but a coalition of the Motion Picture Association of America, the Independent Film and Television Alliance and the National Association of Theatre Owners has issued a press release supporting it.

When the legislation is made available on the Library of Congress’s Thomas site, it will be here.  The press release from the TV and Move industry groups  in support of the legislation is here.  The IP Enforcement coordinators legislative recommendations are here. Thanks to IP Watch for the pointer.
