Agenda
Margaret Chon

Second concurrent session on Saturday :  11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.  Following the morning Development Agenda session in the same room and lunch pick-up

The session will cover broadly: (1) how industrialized countries can take a more active role in the implementation of the DA; (2) how the concept of development is pertinent to industrialized as well as developing countries; (3) cross-border implementation issues; and (4) any other topics relevant to the theme.  Representative speakers from Australia, Canada, Chile, the E.U. and the U.S. will lead the discussion.  In addition, speakers may talk about their various geographic areas of expertise, such as China or Korea.

For example, one participant will explain the Public Domain Manifesto (http://publicdomainmanifesto.org/) and how a derivative version of it was subsequently adopted by Europeana as the Europeana Public Domain Charter (http://version1.europeana.eu/web/europeana-project/publications/).

Other speakers will also present brief (5-10 minute) synopses of their work relevant to the session theme.  Following these presentations, all participants (including the audience) are encouraged to comment, discuss and engage with the topics raised.  This is a lunch-time/brownbag discussion, so participants are expected to pick up their lunches before the session and bring them to the session.
