As part of WIPO’s efforts to mobilize against new issues of IP law that are being raised by AI and other emerging technologies, WIPO has planned a “Conversation on IP and Frontier Technologies” for which a provisional agenda has just been released. This event is scheduled for March 13-14, 2024 and aims to address issues related to artificial intelligence, creativity, and IP. The agenda includes discussions on AI’s impact on the IP space, the use of training data, methods for fair creator compensation, the effectiveness of litigation in IP disputes, the adaptability of regulatory frameworks to technological advances, and the influence of generative AI on innovation. Through panels, presentations, and discussions, the event seeks to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on the evolving challenges and opportunities at the intersection of IP and emerging technology.
